The most mystical photoshoot I’ve had the luxury of being apart of, enter the Wondrous World of “Alex and Wonderland”. Alex Scott, one of the three directors of TRUU ART, LLC. invited me to a mansion on the cordial side of Milwaukee, along with other artists to invoke Truu Art within our collaboration. I didn’t know what to expect, the colors in the manor were vibrant, the personalities diverse, and a mixture of thought I’ve never set eyes on before. Imagine embodying your anti-self, only to escape into a land of wonder where curiosity leads to invaluable visual arts. 

I was lured deeper into the Madhouse

It felt as if areas in my mind have been elevated the more I explore

There were creatures galore and fanaticism lore

I finally found what I was never looking for 

There lied under the dirt

A heart beat that couldn’t be seen or heard.

Rested my hand above the cold black sand

To embrace Mr. Universe’s blessing yet a Curse

My ego was shut and a new getup was formed

All hail to All things Mad yet a new Hatter was Born

Mahdi Gransberry the Mindful Neurologist 

Draped along the bed with my lucky spades, I sensed the conspired sorcery within me. Luckily, Mahdi Gransberry was a local MKE photographer specializing in emotion, he captured my remnants arranged throughout the attic flawlessly. Like energy, I can never be destroyed but I must transform, and leave magic & madness along my path. 

Was Mahdi Gransberry brought to me by Destiny 

He snapped away as I overlooked the sane City 

An angel on my left and a devil on my right

Two can play the same game, but which has a bigger bite

Reversology is a dangerous game when evil becomes light 

To reverse this Madness I must converse in the night

Leave at once out of Sight! But I know it won’t leave without a Fight

Amanda Mills the Elven Warlock

Conspiring artists dancing and smiling among the moon of the dining room, orchestrated behind the lens of Amanda Mills. Tea filled up to the brim of cups, chuckling away shortly ended by the bubbly hiccups. A new aura was dominant, but who was to blame for this prominent ambiance? Collective creatives of plenty overpowered my scheme, instead of being mean why not infuse with the gleam. Swirling personalities as big as cards skipped along the dining table, bottles hung and corks flung we all enjoyed each others specialty. 

Enough was Enough! 

Hard to separate even though the Love was Tough

I must Continue my Purpose, Tis “why I’m here”

Pull myself away from myself to the basements lair 

You’re deep Enough when you feel it is useless to make a prayer

Cold stone grit of concrete slabs leave pollution between my energy 

“Society must recognize the good comes after all the bad 

When you’ve hit rock bottom and reached a profound state of Mad

It’ll be over once you’ve met your past, you can’t escape, but it’ll make you Glad”

I’m sorry for what I’ve done Mr. Universe pleads, in fact he’s sincere

Familiarity hits the atmosphere, “Am I bound? No, I must be Cuffed!” 

Jennell Jenney the Economical Alchemist 

Piercing silence fills the air, my head hung broke a creak in the bench. The grounding foundation of a basement, away from anything seeping under your skin. To capture my Swings was yet another local MKE photographer, by the name of Jennell Jenney, whom specialized in Moods. She was able to capture the black & white feel of the heaviness in the atmosphere and hit the vocal point of Mr. Universe in every photograph.   

Although it was Fun Every Story has it’s End

Not a Reality left unbent 

Return from the dirt which once we have Risen 

Achieve another level that God has Given

To touch Hell in back is a Trophy to Heaven 

To All corrupted minds, YOUR Mr. Universe fulfills purpose to your Mission 

Thank you for reading my Behind the Scenes perspective and poem of Alex and Wonderland. I had a great time creating this interesting spin on how the photoshoot felt. Truu Art is a mastermind at sculpting environments that fit the mood of what they are achieving to express! Playing Mr. Universe as a character was trippy and edgy I wanted to make the viewers see the bad before the good, and to understand the remnants of mad minds combined to create another Mad Hatter.
